Chlamydia – How Not To Get Chlamydia, A STD?
Feb 8th
Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted disease (STD). It is a silent disease because the symptoms appear very late in some people. They may not be aware that they have Chlamydia. A bacterium causes this infection. A partner sexually passes this bacterium to another partner. The question is- how to enjoy relationships without contacting Chlamydia which is dangerous if allowed to progress? Let me tell you how.
Chlamydia- how it is passed?
Look inside your mouth and observe the skin inside. It looks different from your body skin, is it not so? This skin inside the mouth is called mucous membrane. The same kind of membrane covers your inner genitals and anal cavity. When this mucous membrane comes in contact with any secretion of a Chlamydia patient, he/she will get infected. The clue lies in preventing the mucous membrane coming in contact with any secretions of the affected person.
Chlamydia- what will you do to prevent it?
Let us take a real life example. Suppose you have a new partner and are not sure about the health. What would you do to prevent getting Chlamydia if your partner is a carrier? Don’t allow any contact between the mucous membranes. Therefore avoid all kinds of oral sex. Kissing will also spread Chlamydia. Avoid it in the beginning. Involve only in sex protected by condom. Nothing else. After sometime, you may ask your partner if he/she has been tested for Chlamydia and know about the status. If you have not got yourself screened, it is time to meet a doctor and get the test done. It is a very simple test and will also tell you about other STDs.
Chlamydia can cause many complications if it is not treated in the early stages. Please look for these symptoms if you have had unprotected sex or sex with a partner whose status you do not know. The common symptoms of Chlamydia are- difficult and painful urination, discharge from penis or vagina, pain in the lower abdomen, pain in intercourse in women, pain or swelling in men. If you notice any of these signs, please contact your doctor without any delay. A course of antibiotics normally clears the infection in two weeks. Ask your partner to get treated as well. Otherwise you will get infected once more. Use condoms. Avoid having multiple sexual partners. Women should not douche. Douching increases the possibility of getting Chlamydia.

A Cat Island Bahamas Vacation
Feb 8th
The Hermitage is a bit of an historical oddity, fascinating & strange. The hike up to see this religious site will take visitors through small villages along beautiful trails, full of island flora & fauna. it is located at the top of Mt. Alvernia, which is 206 feet above the sea & the highest point in the Bahamas. The Hermitage itself is made from the limestone of the cliffs, with each piece painstakingly extracted, shaped & set by hand by the Canadian mule-skinner turned Anglican turned Roman Catholic priest known as brother Jerome. The brother built the structure to scale, designed it to fit his diminutive form. Beloved by the island people, the priest passed away in 1956 after reaching the ripe age of 80.
U.S. Immigration Policy Ignores Economic Reality
Feb 7th
The root of the current crisis of undocumented immigration is a fundamental disconnect between today’s economic and labor market realities and an outdated system of legal immigration.
Undocumented immigration is driven in large part by a U.S. labor market that is creating a higher demand for less-skilled workers than is being met by the native-born labor force or by the current legal limits on immigration.
As the past decade and a half of failed federal border-enforcement efforts make clear, immigration policies that ignore these larger economic forces merely drive migration underground rather than effectively regulate it.
In short, there is an unsustainable contradiction between U.S. economic and immigration policy, with economics winning. The problem is a broken immigration system that sends the dual messages “Keep Out” and “Help Wanted” to foreign workers.
The U.S. economy continues to create large numbers of less-skilled jobs even as native-born workers grow older and better educated and are increasingly unavailable to fill such jobs.
Yet the federal government continues to impose outdated numerical caps and other restrictions on immigration that bear little relationship to the economic realities of our time.
As a result, enforcement resources are devoted in large part to trying to stem the labor migration the U.S. economy attracts and which is an outcome of globalization. Despite the critical role immigrants play in filling less-skilled jobs, America offers few opportunities under the current immigration system for them to come to the U.S. legally.
There is a similar bottleneck for low-skilled workers who seek temporary, employment-based visas. Of the 16 different types of temporary immigrant visas available for employment and training in the United States, only two -; H2A and H2B -; are available to workers with little or no formal training. Moreover, the total number of H2B visas that can be awarded in a year is capped at 66,000.
Only a truly comprehensive approach will work, one that includes a process by which undocumented immigrants already living and working in the United States can apply for legal status, as well as the creation of a temporary worker program with stringent protections for both temporary workers themselves and native-born workers.
Lawmakers must tackle the issue of undocumented immigration with less rhetoric and more realism. Continuing the status quo by trying to enforce immigration policies that are at war with the U.S. and global economies will do nothing to address the underlying problem. Nor is it feasible to wall off the United States from the rest of the world.
The most practical option is to bring U.S. immigration policy in line with the realities of the U.S. labor market and an increasingly transnational economy.

How To Lower Your Car Insurance Costs Once And For All!
Feb 7th
With fuel costs escalating out of control these days, car running costs are becoming a serious burden for the average family, especially families with more than one car. Because of this reason more and more people are looking for ways to control the costs associated with their family transport.
One such cost is the cost of car insurance. Below are 7 tips for lowering your car insurance costs:
1. Drive carefully. It may sound obvious but as insurance premiums are related to risk then your manner of driving is related to your insurance premiums. Safer driver equals lower premiums. It may not seem so at the time but those traffic violations or speeding fines reflect in your bill.
2. Have a look at other insurance policies you have with other companies. Many insurers offer discounts for combining all your family insurance with their company. Find out who they are and get a quote on all your policies combined.
3. Also note the differences in premiums you would be paying for the type of car you have. Different types of car attract different levels of premium because, in particular, different types of car are driven by different types of people, who may have different types of risk profile. Sports cars, for example, will usually show a higher rate of accidents than staid boring family cars.
4. Consider your deductible. This is the amount you pay first out of any claim, and the cost of your policy is directly related to the amount of your deductible. Higher deductible – lower premium. So consider carefully whether you could afford to pay a higher amount first from any accident and raise your deductible. If so, you will get lower premiums.
5. Safety and anti theft devices can reduce the insurance costs for a car. Talk to your insurance company and find out if there are any safety or anti theft devices that you can install to reduce your premium. Then consider installing them making sure that you notify your insurance company once you have done so. And why not ring up your company and make sure that they are aware of any safety and anti theft devices you already have, if they aren’t you may get a reduction.
6. Always look online for a competitive quote from other companies. Most of the major players and brokers are represented online and it is extremely competitive. Be sure to take advantage of this fact.
7. Don’t just pay your premium blindly without checking if you can do better. Car insurance rates vary all the time and so even if it was the best rate last year it may not be this year. Every year shop around to see if you can do better, you may be surprised.
Follow the above tips and advice and youll be pleasantly surprised at how much you can save on your auto insurance.
Control The Success Of Your Internet Business With One Simple Step
Feb 7th
Motivational speaker Anthony Robbins once said, If you want to be successful, find someone who achieved the results you want and copy what they do, and youll achieve the same results.
Its an idea I became familiar with many years ago
When I was first getting started online, I made a lot of mistakes. Not because I wasnt trying to model successful businesses, but because there simply werent businesses online to model. (In 1996, I was among the first handful of people to actually start selling products over the Internet.)
So I gathered as much information as I could from successful offline marketing experts like Jay Abraham; however, the challenge was adjusting their techniques to work in the online world. Im sure it will come as no surprise to you that many of the techniques used to market and sell in the real world either
a) Didnt work at all on the Internet.
Or
b) Needed to be seriously adjusted, tested, tweaked, and adjusted some more to really get results online.
The point that Im trying to make here is that it literally took me years of testing and hundreds of thousands of dollars to discover the same techniques that youll now see commonly used online today.
Fortunately, there is no reason for things to be nearly this difficult for you. Today, modeling the Internet successes is relatively easy. (Though, be careful that you separate the phonies and fakes from the true experts — look for those who honestly practice what they preach and who can prove it!)
The biggest investment that youll need to make is your time
If youre interested in long-term, life-changing success, then a few extra days of reading and researching shouldnt matter. Its the success of your business that were talking about here, so dont make the fatal mistake of thinking that youre wasting time. Remember that what you learn today could be the technique or strategy that saves you not only wasted time and effort, but thousands of dollars in could have been profits.
Its an extremely simple concept
Guarantee Your Success By Modeling The Successful
1) What Should My Web Site Look Like?
Why spend thousands of dollars having a flashy site designed thats loaded with theme music and spinning graphics? Some of the most successful web sites online today have extremely sleek, simple designs.
Of course, before I tell you to model proven successful web sites, I want you to be aware of the catch
When researching web sites to model, the ones you should be paying closest attention to are your competitors and sites that have a profit model similar to your own (i.e. look for sites that make money in a similar way).
For example, if you sell cotton balls on your web site, you shouldnt be modeling your site design after Amazon.com. First off, they sell books (among other things). You sell cotton balls. They offer a wide variety of titles and choices. You offer one product — cotton balls. Finally, lets face it — their advertising budget is out of this world! If youre a small or home-based business, you likely dont have the same kind of luxury to experiment and make expensive mistakes.
So think practical — be realistic — and start looking for other sites that are successfully selling their cotton balls online (or one, similar product), and model your site after theirs. Your site doesnt need to be the next Yahoo! or eBay for you to be earning a significant 6 figure income.
2) How Do I Write Sales Copy That Really Sells?
Writing sales copy that really sells takes practice — and education! I have yet to meet someone who just has a natural gift for writing award-winning copy without any education whatsoever.
Sure, some people might get lucky and stumble onto bits and pieces of the proven approach — but I can guarantee you that anyone who hasnt studied the art & science of sales copy is missing key elements that could increase their sales by 400% – 1,200%. Im not kidding here
So rather than playing a hit or miss guessing game with your copy, I highly recommend looking for sales copy that makes YOU want to buy and studying it. After youve read enough quality copy, youll start to notice a distinct pattern that you can apply to your own writing.
3) How Do I Rank At The Top Of The Search Engines?
If you plan on ranking at the top of the search engines, then I cant stress enough the importance of educating yourself. The search engines are a highly competitive arena where only those who have taken the time to learn the rules claim a top 10 spot.
Very rarely these days will you hear of someone getting lucky and just magically sliding into a top ranking.
So if you want a top 10 listing under your best keywords and phrases (i.e. you want your site to appear in the top 10 listings when someone searches the key phrase cotton balls in MSN, Yahoo!, Google, etc), then you need to do two things
a) Examine the web sites that already rank in the top 10 under your best keywords and phrases — and look for patterns.
b) Use the proven know-how of the search engine experts to learn the ropes. If you want a top ranking, then youll want the experience and advice of someone who makes it their mission to keep up with the constantly changing rules of each search engine and directory.
In fact, before you spend a lot of time examining the sites of your competition for clues as to why they are listed among the top 10, I recommend seeking out these search engine gurus. With their advice, youll be better prepared to critically examine your competitors web sites for clues that explain why theyre at the top of the ranks.
4) How Do I Drive Targeted Traffic To My Web Site?
If you want to increase the number of targeted potential customers who are arriving at your web site each day, then a listing in the search engines is a good start, but its also exactly that — a start.
Again, take some time to research your competition. How are they attracting their visitors? Do they have a lot of links on other sites? Do they have their own Affiliate Program? Do they participate heavily in newsgroups? Do they have an established viral marketing campaign?
Use the experience of your competition to your advantage by learning their secrets — and then tweaking and improving on their approach to do them one better!
Work Smarter — Not Harder — And See Bigger Rewards And Profits
Even now, I still scour the Web to see how others are creating their own success. I analyze my competition I read everything that I can get my hands on and I remain open to new ideas and new approaches.
Today, its relatively cheap and easy to get a solid education in what Internet marketing techniques work, which to avoid, and how to build guaranteed success the first time around! So why would you waste your valuable (and limited) time and money by stubbornly insisting on making mistakes that you could easily avoid with a little education?
Model the success of others and you’ll not only guarantee your success, you’ll achieve your goals in less time with less expense than you could on your own.
Crash Hits: Common Injuries In Car Accidents
Feb 6th
Cars are the most visible signs of modernity in an otherwise ancient world. No urban environment would be complete without these four-wheeled machines. Most people see them as a convenience, enabling them to get from point A to point B without having to endure the crowds the rush hours associated with public transportation. However, as cars become more and more available, roads become more and more congested. As the congestion worsens, it is inevitable that car accidents occur and people get hurt. Statistically speaking, car accidents have been occurring with increased frequency over the past decade. The statistics also show that there are a number of injuries that have become common to most car accidents during that period.
IT Consultants: Recommend Clients Buy Video Monitors Along with PCs
Feb 6th
Although there are really no major compatibility issues to consider between PCs and monitors, most PC vendors offer good deals on monitors purchased at the same time as desktop PCs. In this article, we’ll assume you are IT consultants who recommend brand name PC products to your clients.
IT Consultants: What Are You or Your Clients Actually Paying?
For due diligence, IT consultants should always price the PC with and without the monitor, to see what you or your clients are actually paying. Then look to see whether that monitor price is in line with purchasing a comparable monitor separate from the PC. However, besides the purchase price, there are some even greater soft cost considerations.
When purchasing the monitor along with a desktop PC, the monitor warranty generally is incorporated into any on-site warranty coverage with the PC. That means, if a clients monitor needs replacement during the on-site warranty period, the PC vendor usually will arrange to cross-ship a replacement monitor.
IT Consultants: Know The Benefits of Warranties
This provides a few very compelling benefits.
No need to store and retain packing materials. Your clients dont have to worry that theyve thrown away the box and packing materials for the monitor. Theres no need to purchase return shipping supplies as theyll be able to return the broken monitor in the same box their replacement comes in.
Save time with freight logistics. Your clients doesnt have to locate a shipping outlet. In most cases, the PC vendor in-cludes return shipping labels (call tags) for a specific freight carrier – generally the same freight carrier used for shipping the replacement to them.
Save money on freight costs — If the PC vendor supplies return shipping labels, your client wont have to pay for return freight. Depending on the monitor size, origination and destination shipping points, this easily can save your client $25 or more.
While the third bullet point affects your clients direct out-of-pocket costs, the first two items can be labor-intensive chores for you or your clients internal computer administrators (“internal gurus”).
So, buying a monitor along with a PC, and getting both purchases folded into on-site warranty coverage, easily can save a half-hour to an hour (or more) every time a monitor needs replacement.

Modern Art a Conspiracy Part 1
Feb 6th
I have been turned down several times by some ignorant gallery owners on both sides of the fence for their lack of interest in African Art. In their words African Art is primitive. The sad thing is that our so-called elites gallery owners do not get it too. In most cases they are worst and very ignorant and nave about African art. How long are we going to allow these false monsters of the past run wild in our present time?
I have realized that truth is usually a hard pill to swallow but we must confront our past for a better tomorrow.
We have been forced to look down on ourselves. They held our minds captive with the television, print media, history books or documentaries of their explorers that were written supposedly for them, but ended up in our nations schools bookshelves for mind alteration and economic exploitation. Maybe I am missing something; please tell me the expectation of an educator who thought the grand children of Amina in Nigeria, that River Niger was discovered by Mongo Park.
The same River Niger, where their grand ma, Anina bath, swam, fetched water, they have known and played in the river all their lives and in fact the legend had it that their grandpa Obi was among the men that guided and guarded the strange White man from the wild beast of the jungle. Instead of a letter of appreciation, their great grand children are forced and feed lies of the incident in the name of education.
They constantly used whatever they can to accomplish their vision. The invention of television became an effective tool for manipulation of generations with ease using Jacobs vision power of increase, Genesis 30: 31 43, for their negative agenda. There is power in what we hear and see. That is more reason they will never show you good side of Africa.
During the era of European avant-garde artists, there were prolific African Artists such as Aina Onabolu and many others whose works were never considered modern. Obviously including them in their modern era will mean making them equal with their counterparts in Europe. You know what that means to black man who was supposed to be picking cottons. European modern art was the biggest scam on African Art. They took the best of our forefathers and kicked us to the trash.
They knew what they were doing and the effect of these centuries of bad seeds is what we see today in Africa and beyond. It is very common to see African professionals, highly educated but with no knowledge of self and very much whiter than the white, if you know what I mean. I have walked into a financial firm in Atlanta, owned and managed by some Nigerians and the issue of African Art came up, One of the owners was asked what type of art do have hanging on your wall. You need see him go off with pride and talked eloquently on modern art at the end he declared that he doesnt want to be associated with African Art.
You can imagine how that made me feel, having studied art and taught art professionally to hear a Nigerian elite in the position of power and influence, to promote our arts and culture, out rightly rejected his inheritance. I didnt wait to ask why? He went off again to talk about crime and the world image of Nigeria. At this point I struggled to hold myself
from exploding before other nationalities in the company. I am by no means in support of any crime but if man should disown his nation because of crime and western media propaganda, the problem is way deeper than it appears. I asked him again respectfully if any of these nationalities working in Nigeria have pulled out their oil drilling machines and abandoned their mansions in Nigeria since the 419 propaganda started? I didnt see him jump up with an answer this time. Tell me where there is no fraud and crime.
This nice brother is one of the millions of African souls lost to this false and mean world of conspiracy and selfish vision of racism and imperialism. You might be wondering what is this got to do with modern art. But the truth is that, there was nothing modern about the works of the European avant-garde artists other than punch of copycats, imitators and plagiarists in conspiracy with their racist writers, art critics and art historians to make wrong right. Once again they gave themselves names, cubism, modern art and shoved it down our throat like always.
They covered the truth of plagiarizing African Art and started their usual evil naming ceremonies for their selfish goals. Who named the Primitive Art and Modern Art? Take a close look at their so-called primitive art and look at the modern art and decide for yourself. Who named the Tribal Art? These are the same people whose lists of names consist of Negro, Aborigines, Nigger, and Black, Gypsy, White, Red, Yellow, and People of Color to mention a few. What good has these names done to mankind other than division and control. Let us face the truth, because truth is the heart of freedom. There is more to names than we can imagine hence God had to change peoples given names to accomplish his mission in their lives. It has been and will always be demonic and its time to reject such names for our true purpose and relationship with one another.
Lets look into more facts in the part 2 coming soon.
Shuffling to the Music
Feb 6th
Much as we sometimes fear change, some inexplicable part of the human psyche loves unpredictability. Even those among us who crave order in our homes and office spaces sometimes love to throw caution to the wind and lose our organized selves in a whirlwind of spontaneity. While many of us feel that things should have their place, and be in that same place when we go to look for it as were running out the door, still we long for the odd surprise to make life just a little more interesting. Perhaps, then, its little wonder that our favorite iPod tool is the shuffle key.
In the days of the record and tape cassette, our only listening option was a chronological one. And because even our very favorite album usually has a song or two that doesnt quite hit the spot, we always ended up listening to it anyway, skipping the needle over (quite often making horrible scratches in the process that invariably cut through the songs we did like), or pushing blindly on fast forward to get to the tunes other side.
But with the advent of CDs, our options expanded, offering us for the first time a perhaps more playful way of listening. And while CDs undoubtedly offered us greater listening flexibility over their predecessors, portable music had not yet reached its zenith. Now we have the iPod, and the user friendly listening of the CD has been combined with a storage system that allows us carry with us almost as much music as we could ever want.
But with that enormous choice available to us on a daily basis, it can be difficult to know where to begin your listening pleasure. Of course there are always days when you have a hankering for a particular song, but when the music stored comprises all your own personal favorites, how do you choose? Perhaps thats why the iPods shuffle option is one of the devices best loves features.
So much so that Apple, the company who make the iPod, have produced a version of their digital music player thats quite descriptively called, yes, you guessed it, the Shuffle. Realizing that the feature was one of the iPods most popular, they came up with a music player that assumes this mode by default. You can still store all the music you like on the new iPod version, only now you dont have to choose which song to play the Shuffle plays your music randomly, so you are always treated to that element of surprise.
Now the unpredictability that keeps us on our toes can be a part of your life every day. Shuffle to the music!
How The Humble Ant Can Help You Overcome The Greatest Robber Of Your Potential
Feb 6th
Copyright 2006 Colin De Silva
If I do my job right in this article, the next time you see a column of ants you’ll think of the powerful message I’m about to lay on you.
This is an adaptation of James Rohn’s The Ant Philosophy of Life, and do please keep reading because those pesky little blighters can sure teach us some.
Lesson #1 – Ants Never Quit
Yep, they know where they’re headed and if you try to stop them they’ll look for another way. They’ll climb over, they’ll climb under and they’ll climb around. They keep looking for another way. What’s more, they do all of this of their own volition…..they don’t need a “sergeant ant” yelling order to them. What a simple and uncomplicated philosophy, to never quit looking for a way to get to where you’re supposed to go.
Lesson #2 – Ants Actively Think Ahead & Provide For Rainy Days
Put another way, ants think “winter” and summer. They know summer will never last, so they are constantly storing for the “not so good” times.
Lesson #3 – Ants Gather All They Possibly Can
How much ants will gather during the summer to prepare for the winter? Answer: All they possibly can because in the ant world there is no benevolent government to ladle out the surplus…..unemployment benefits don’t exist in the ant world. Everyone is expected to pull their share.
What an incredible philosophy, the “all-you-possibly-can” philosophy.
Now ants do not suffer from the frailty known as the “the enemy within”….but we humans do and debilitating condition has five separate and dangerous offshoots.
At the start of yet another year we should be aware of the enemy within.
#1 – Indifference
The first “enemy within”, which you’ve got to destroy before it destroys you, is indifference – the tragic “no problems or it will be OK” curse. Go read Ant Lesson #1, for our ant bothers aren’t indifferent; they know very well what they must do. Now, indifference usually exists where there is a lack of clarity……so for the remainder of 2006, strive to bring absolute clarity to everything you do, and this definitely includes your general communication with others.
#2 – Indecision
The second “enemy within” is indecision, the thief of opportunity and enterprise. It will steal your chances for a much brighter future by strangling you with a myriad of stressful “what if” scenarios. Have you ever seen an ant who is suffering from indecision?
#3 Doubt
The third “enemy within” is doubt. Many people doubt the past, doubt the future, doubt each other, doubt the government, doubt the possibilities and doubt the opportunities. But, worst of all, secretly they doubt themselves. I’m telling you, doubt will destroy your life and your chances of success. It will empty both you bank account and your heart. Doubt is an enemy so learn from the mighty ants, who are in no doubt about what must be done.
#4 – Worry
The fourth “enemy within” is worry. Sure, it’s smart to carefully weigh up the situation, make a decision and then violently execute that decision. But, there’s nothing to be gained worrying about all the permutations and combinations once matters are in play. As best we know, ants don’t worry because they’ve got a pretty good game plan with the “all-you-possibly-can” philosophy.
#5- Timidity
The fifth “enemy within” is timidity or over caution. Look, timid people get creamed in the marketplace. You’ve got to know what you’re good at and be good at telling anyone who’ll listen about your talents and what you can do for them. A timid, over cautious ant, by genetic design, won’t last long in the colony.
So, in 2006….come to grips with the “enemies within”, which are much bigger robbers of opportunities than the enemies on the outside.
Event Etiquette
Feb 6th
The workshop was over. The delegates had long gone and Margaret Kerr was recovering with a cup of coffee. The room was strewn with sheets of flip chart paper, the debris of the buffet lunch and countless empty coffee cups covered every horizontal surface in the room. Margaret was drained. The workshop had been a tough one for a trainer; the delegates had all been sharp and smart; they had challenged her knowledge and demanded long explanations of the reasons behind the theories she was asking them to buy into. She looked at the bomb-site that was once an orderly training room and knew she didn’t have the energy to do much more than crawl to her car. After all, she reasoned, the conference center cleaning staff would tidy up, wouldn’t they.
Once the rooms are clear of delegates and you have bathed in the glory of a successful event, it is time to dismantle everything that you came with. As with the assembly process, it is useful to assign specific responsibilities to members of the event team and to manage the process as smoothly as possible. For larger events, keep a checklist of everything that needs to be done on a flip chart and, as items are completed, score them out. Using a clearly visible list like this gives everyone involved an easy reference and allows them to decide themselves how they can best help others once they have completed their own tasks.
If events are to be a frequent part of your life, you will want a venue to welcome you back with open arms. To make this a certainty, try as much as possible to leave the venue.rooms as you found them, litter-free and ready for the cleaning staff to prepare them for the next users.
This may seem like common sense but you will be surprised how easy it is, at the end of a particularly stressful event, to follow the impulse to cut and run. Your reputation is worth more than a few sheets of paper.
Providing venue feedback
As you leave with the last load of equipment, make a point of contacting your conferencing contact at the venue. Show them your feedback from the evaluation forms; if they are worth their salt, they will be eager to read it. Add any feedback of your own, positive and negative but always leave a nice, juicy positive comment to the last and tell them you’ll be back.
If you’ve had any particularly excellent service from the conferencing staff, make a point of following up your feedback with a thank you letter to the venue manager. A little careful attention to detail now will buy you royal treatment on your next visit.
Margaret was about to slide quietly away when her colleague Ben, walked in looking full of energy. Where do you get the energy, Ben? she asked. I pace myself he stated in a matter of fact way the day ain’t over till it’s over

Celebrity Baby Names
Feb 5th
Celebrities are not like everyday people. They have busy schedules, drive expensive cars, and wear jewelry that others can only dream of owning. Maybe it is because celebrities are so far removed from normal life that they often give their babies unusual names.
Some names are just a little different. John Travolta and Kelly Preston have two beautiful children. Their daughter’s name is Ella Bleu. Their son’s name is Jett. Jett is different, but anyone who knows anything about John Travolta knows he has a love for flying. Gwyneth Paltrow, pregnant again, came under scrutiny for naming her first child Apple. While it is unusual, it is somewhat cute, like in the “apple of their eye.” Chris Martin, her husband, tired of the controversy over the name Apple, has jokingly stated their second child, whether male or female, will be named Banana. Another cute name is Dandelion, the name of Keith Richards’ daughter. Julie Roberts recently gave birth to twins – a boy and a girl – and received flack over the names she chose. She received almost as much grief over the choice for her daughter’s name, Hazel, as she did the more eccentric choice of Phinnaeus for her son.
Many people speculated what Madonna would name her first child. Lourdes Maria seems a fitting name for child who’s mother’s name is Madonna, but she often goes by Lola. Her son is named Rocco, which sounds a bit like a cartoon character, but at least it is a tough sounding name. Actor Casey Affleck and fianc Summer Phoenix recently had a son named Indiana August, which leads one to wonder what state and month their son was conceived in. Toni Braxton has two sons, Denim and Diezel. While both useful products, they make somewhat strange names for children. Rob Marrow decided it would be cute if he named his daughter Tu Simone Ayer, calling her Tu Morrow. Wonder if she will think it is cute 20 years from now? Actor Jason Lee named his son Pilot Inspektor, but magician Penn Jillette may have topped them all. He named his daughter, Moxie Crimefighter, saying “because when she’s pulled over for speeding she can say, `But officer, we’re on the same side, my middle name is CrimeFighter.”‘
If you think it is a new trend, think again. Back in 1971, David Bowie and his then wife Angela decided to name their son Duncan Zowie Heywood Jones. He soon became known as Zowie Bowie. Cher named her children Chastity Sun and Elijah Blue.
The Phoenix family is well known for their unusual choice of baby names. Summer Phoenix’s siblings are the late actor River Phoenix, actresses Rain and Liberty Phoenix and actor Joaquin Phoenix. Joaquin felt his name was so out of place with his siblings, that when he was four, he decided to change his name to Leaf. By the early 1990′s, he had reverted back to using his birth name. Another family infamous for their choices of baby names is the Zappa family. Frank’s children are Dweezil, Moon Unit, Ahmed Emuukha Rodan and Diva Muffin. While many people think that Dweezil is his given name, his birth name was originally Ian Donald Calvin Euclid Zappa because the hospital refused to register the name Dweezil. Always called Dweezil, when he was a child, he wanted to make the name official and his parents took him to have it changed legally. Paula Yates, former wife of Sir Bob Geldof and girlfriend of late rocker Michael Hutchence, also had a knack for giving her children unusual names. Among her brood are Fifi Trixibelle, Peaches Honeyblossom Michelle Charlotte Angel Vanessa, Heavenly Hiraani Tigerlily, and Little Pixie.
Some celebrity baby names make sense if you know the story behind them. Eurythmic’s Dave Stewart named his son Django after jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. Stevie Wonder named his son Mandla Kadjaly Carl Stevland, however Mandla means “powerful” in Zulu and Kadjaly means “born from God” in Swahili. Helen Hunt just gave birth to a baby girl she named Makena’lei Gordon. The name Makena’lei is from a friend’s dream and means “many flowers of heaven.” Gordon, an unlikely girl’s name, was to honor of Helen’s father, television director Gordon Hunt. Nicolas Cage just named his new baby boy Kal-el. Because Nicolas took his stage name of Cage from comic book character Luke Cage, he decided to name his son Kal-el after one of his favorite comic book heroes. Kal-el is Superman’s kryptonian name.
So, do the children like these unconventional names given them by their parents? In some cases, they do. The Phoenix’s seem to love their nature-inspired names and the Zappa children seem to have had no ill effects from their eccentric names. However, some children tire of the peculiar names quickly. Zowie Bowie had had enough of his moniker by the time he was 12 and asked to be referred to as “Joey.” Although Dandelion Richards does not seem too bad, she has since started referring to herself as Angela. Recently, Peaches Honeyblossom Michelle Charlotte Angel Vanessa Geldof has been the most outspoken about the odd choice her parents made in naming her. She has been quoted as saying, “I hate ridiculous names. My weird name has haunted me all my life.”
While having an unusual name might be difficult for any child, the celebrity of a child’s parents may enhance it even further. Thankfully, celebrity children who decide they don’t like their given names can switch to a nickname or even eventually have their names legally changed.
Learn From Centenarians About Longevity
Feb 5th
I attended a health conference by a retired physician, Jerome Kornfeld, M.D. from California. Its so refreshing to hear the medical community endorsing how critical exercise and good nutrition is to health and longevity. More importantly, was the confirmation of how the mind and positive thoughts control health and longevity.
Dr. Kornfeld was speaking at a lecture where nine centenarians were in attendance. Eight of the nine were women. He asked each centenarian to share their secret to longevity. Then he asked the audience if they noticed a common thread to the centenarians secrets. No one seemed to notice a common thread. Dr. Kornfeld noticed one, but only one. The common theme he noticed was a positive attitude. No matter what they faced in life; cancer, illness, injuries, etc. they all accepted their challenges and moved on.
Wow, that is powerful! But, it does not surprise me. We find the same thing in our fitness and weight loss businesses. The people who are positive and have a great outlook on life reach their goals, get best results, and are overall healthier. Ive been teaching this over the last several years. I regularly speak to groups, corporations and individuals about their thoughts and mental attitudes. My primary message is having a healthy mindset; then I talk about exercise and eating healthy.
Iris is a 90 year young woman in our personal training studio who my husband trains two times a week. Her goal is for strength and balance so she doesnt fall. She has such a positive outlook on life. She dresses in fine clothes to workout. We compliment her all the time how she looks so nice, and she said when she looks good she feels good. Its all in her attitude. She loves that fact that she exercises with a personal trainer and it makes her feel important. She has also noticed a tremendous amount of benefits many she never expected to experience when all she wanted was a little strength and balance. Her family is very proud of her also.
Iris hasnt been the youngest client weve worked with. My husband also trains a 99 year young women. Molly is full of life and still dances. Her attitude affects her health and she doesnt look a day over 80. Both of our 90 year old clients know the importance of eating health. They dont skip breakfast and have a great attitude on life. They want to make the most of their time left on earth. Their secret to longevity is healthy eating, exercise and to be happy and positive.
From personal experience, I know how my attitude affects my life, health, business, and relationships. Ive seen both sides from clinical depression to working diligently on my positive attitude. And guess what? It certainly is more fun and energizing to be positive rather than negative. It does take effort to maintain a positive attitude on a regular basis, but the effort is so worth the benefits! Ask the people around me.
Keeping it positive will enhance your life and the people around you. For more information, motivation and tips on weight loss, go to http://www.womensweightlosscoach.com

Chronic Pain Syndrome And Chronic Pain Management And Treatment – Part I
Feb 5th
Suffer From Chronic Pain
Each year tens of millions of Americans suffer from persistent pain known as chronic pain. Individuals with chronic pain are less able to function in daily life than those who do not suffer from chronic pain.
Chronic pain patients suffer from poor sleep quality and depressed mood rather than pain intensity, duration, or anxiety. Clinical Implications Chronic pain patients suffer from poorer quality of sleep than do healthy control subjects. Many people suffer chronic pain in the absence of any past injury or evidence of illness. Although more than one in five Americans live with chronic pain, women are more likely to suffer from chronic pain conditions than men. If you or a family member suffer from chronic pain, you know that the search for relief is an ongoing process. But some people suffer chronic pain in absence of any past injury or evidence of body damage. At least 25 percent of Americans suffer from back pain. One fourth of these individuals, back pain is chronic and unremitting.
Experience
If you’re grappling with chronic pain, one of the earliest and most wrenching emotions you experience is a deep sense of loss. In fact, a number of people with SCI experience chronic pain in areas that otherwise have no sensation. Lascelles’ experience, owners are usually more concerned about pain from surgery than pain associated with chronic conditions. The path to chronicity of pain is characterised by failed attempts to adjust and cope with an uncontrollable, frightening, and adverse experience.
Problem Of Chronic Pain
RSD or RSDS is a neurological problem and one of the symptoms is constant chronic burning pain. It is now appreciated that the phenomenon of wind-up is crucial to understanding the problem of chronic pain. Chronic pain in children is an important problem and more action is urgently required to overcome the embarrassing lack of data on childhood pain. Some believe that many factors work together to produce chronic pain, rather than a single disease or medical problem. The longer pain goes on the more susceptible it is to other influences and developing into a problem.
Source From Injury
Some people develop chronic pain out of the blue, with no injury or illness to trigger pain signals. Once chronic pain that has been caused by an injury or surgery is managed, patient recovery may be faster. an injury, and chronic pain with no identifiable pain generator (e.g. The injury transformed her into one of millions of Americans tormented by chronic pain. In stark contrast to acute pain, persists beyond the amount of time that is normal for an injury to heal. In some cases this may stem from an injury incurred during an accident or an assault.
Stress
Managing stress and managing chronic pain go hand in hand. Stress Ask most chronic pain patients what their most significant source of stress is, and they will usually tell you that it is pain. Physical, psychological, and emotional stress may worsen chronic pain. Predictors of posttraumatic stress disorder symptom severity level in chronic low back pain patients.
Prevalence
Statistical analysis The prevalence of recent pain, chronic pain, and severely disabling chronic pain were summarised as percentages of respondents with 95% confidence intervals. Croft et al [11] found the prevalence of chronic pain to be slightly lower in postal survey non-responders. A small number of previous studies have sought to collect data on the prevalence of chronic pain from non-responders. The prevalence of severely disabling chronic pain in this sample was 3.0%.
Depression
This pattern has to be changed if depression, stress, and chronic pain itself are to be conquered. This is because the consequences of chronic pain and the symptoms of depression look very similar. Depression Persons with a chronic pain problem often show decreases in meaningful and enjoyable activities. Depression is often associated with chronic pain and may need to be treated as a separate, but related, condition. Living with chronic pain can lead to loss of appetite, depression, and exhaustion. The consequences of unrelieved chronic pain in this population, similar to others, include depression, decreased socialization and sleep disturbance. Influence of chronic pain on mood and psychosocial function, utilizing age-specific scales (e.g., geriatric depression scale). Nelson and Diane…and depression in patients with chronic pain was investigated. Counselling may also be of some help in addressing the depression which so often accompanies chronic pain or illness. Levels of anxiety, depression and self-rated health were described for respondents with severely disabling chronic pain and contrasted with respondents reporting no pain. Psychological therapy for anxiety and depression is helpful in managing the emotional consequences of chronic pain. This is not the case and if somebody has chronic pain and depression, ‘you have to treat both’, he says. Our research provides further evidence that chronic pain and depression are quite independent”, Dr Clauw said. There are many factors that affect the development of chronic pain such as age, level of disability, depression, or the presence of nerve damage. Schatzberg suspects that the presence of chronic pain should be added to this list as a symptom for assessing depression.
